Khanty-Mansiysk has unveiled a memorial to the pioneer of Siberian oil
Farman Salmanov, APA reports, citing Russian media. Veterans of oil
and gas enterprises of the region, heads of municipalities of Ogra,
members and deputies of Khanty-Mansiysk Duma took part.
The head of the museum of geology, oil and gas Olga Solyar said that
the memorial is a sign of gratefulness of the citizens of
Khanty-Mansiysk - Ogra, Russian and Azerbaijani citizens and followers
of Farman Salmanov.
A special booklet was released about the life of the pioneer and his
discovery of over 300 oil fields in West Siberia. There is also an
exhibition of the personal collection of items presented as gifts to
the Salmanov family.
