Putin signs agreement with Kazakhstan on peaceful space

A law on the ratification of the Russian-Kazakh agreement on cooperation in the field of space for peaceful purposes was signed today by President Vladimir Putin.

The agreement was signed in Astana on May 22, 2008 and aims to promote the creation of a legal and institutional framework for mutually beneficial cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

The head of the Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots, Leonid Slutsky said earlier that the agreement will cover a number of areas of cooperation including intellectual property rights, protection and exchange of various kinds of information, etc.
