Gas pipeline explodes in north-eastern Iran

A section of the gas pipeline near the town of Meshhed in the province
of Horasan-Rezavi has exploded, resulting in 16 people receiving
burns, RIA Novosti reports. Firemen took three hours to put the fire
out . An excavator scraped the pipe, causing the explosion, the head
of the national gas company of Iran Ali Reza Gharibi said. A special
commission is to investigate the case.
