Azerbaijan will restore energy supply to southern regions when the
weather conditions improve, Trend reports on Saturday, citing the
press-service of the ‘Azerenergy’ company.
Heavy rains forced power to be shut down to avoid crashes. The rains
started on September 11 in many territories, including Baku.
Umayr Tagiyeva, head of hydro-meteorological forecasts at the
Azerbaijani National Meteorological Department of the Ministry of
Ecology and Natural Resources, said that the heaviest rainfall was
registered in the Lyankyaran-Astarin region and other regions of the
Greater Caucasus, at 48-64% of the monthly norm. The Absheron
Peninsula registered twice the usual amount of rain.
