Referendum in Turkey continues



The referendum on changes to the constitution has started today in Turkey. In western parts of the country it started at 07.00 local time, and at 08.00 local time in eastern parts, reports Trend, citing the Cihan agency.

Voting will end at 16.00 in eastern parts and at 17.00 in western parts. Media are forbidden to announce preliminary
results until 18.00. Some 49.45 million people are entitled to take part in the voting. The amendments were initiated by the Justice and Development Party. The Peace and Democracy Party called for a boycott of the referendum. South-eastern regions could follow the appeal, several analysts say.
