Kazakhstan interested in increasing oil supplies via BTJ

Kazakhstan is interested in increasing energy resource supplies via
the Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan (BTJ) system, Bolat Soltanov, head of the
center for strategic studies of the Kazakh president, told a
press-conference, APA reports.


Soltanov emphasized the importance of diversifying energy resource
supplies in all directions, noting that Kazakhstan supplies Russia and
is preparing a second gas pipeline to Central Asia-Western China. He
also raised the issue of preserving the biosphere of the Caspian,
commenting on transporting energy resources from Kazakhstan through
the Caspian.


Soltanov proposed increasing supplies using tankers.
