Contractor KDB goes bankrupt after Sochi Olympics

The Krasnodar Territory Court of Arbitration started monitoring of Kubandorblagoustroystvo (KDB), a company specializing in construction materials, construction and reconstruction of roads and bridges, on July 4. The company has paid 10 million rubles to its creditors. It still owes Agrotekhservis-Invest 8.8 million rubles, Vedomosti reports.

KDB was building Olympic facilities in 2009-2013. Its net profit dropped. The company made a loss of 1.67 billion rubles in 2013 and its income dropped 38% compared with 2012. It will drop another 30% this year.

KDB had been winning dozens of tenders of the Krasnodar Mayor’s Office in 2011-2012. In 2013 it won a mere 13 tenders, worth only about 340 million rubles.
