New terminal opens at Sochi airport

Presentation of the new international terminal of Sochi airport will
take place within the framework of the 'Sochi-2010' investment forum,
held on September 16-19, RIA Novosti reports, citing the head of
'Bazel Aero' company Sergey Likhachov.


In late July the inter-departmental commission confirmed that Sochi
airport meets the standards of construction, reconstruction, technical
equipment.


Kikhachov said that this is the first Olympic facility to be put into
commission.


Deputy head of the Russian government Dmitry Kozak, Minister of
Transport Igor Levitin, President of Organization Committee of Sochi
2014 Dmitry Chernyshenko, President of 'Olimpstroy' state corporation
Taymuraz Bolloyev, first deputy head of Krasnodar Territory Jambulat
Khatuov, Mayor of Sochi Anatoliy Pakhomov will be at the presentation.
The airport has two artificial runways, a 4.31 km long network of 40.5
m wide bearing tracks, platform and parking covering 218 000 m. The
airport complex has a capacity of 1 600 people per hour.


The airport of Sochi can service such aircraft as Airbus A319-A320,
310, Boeing 767, Boeing 747SP, Boeing 737, Boeing 757, Il-62, Il-86,
Il-96, Tu-134, Tu-154, Tu-204, Yak-40, Yak-42.
