Oil extraction at Kashagan to resume in 2016

Kazakh Minister for Oil and Gas said that oil extraction at Kashagan will be resumed in the first half of 2016. The field needs 200km of pipelines built.

Production of new pipes will start in August and delivery in December 2014.

Oil extraction at Kashagan started on September 11 and was stopped on September 24, due to gas leakage in the ground pipeline section running from the D Island to the Bolashak factory. Pipes were supplied by Japan’s Sumitomo and JFE and laid by Italy’s Saipem, Trend reports.
