Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan does not consider the size of the
state debt to be a cause for concern. The state debt is half as big as
GDP. It is 40% in loans and 47-48% according to agreements, News
Armenia reports.
The president noted that Yerevan has not spent any loans from
international finance structures on wages and social benefits. The
money was spent on the economy and the stabilization fund.
According to national statistics of June 30, the Armenian state debt
was $3.02 billion. The debt rose by 2% ($60.7 million) compared with
December 30, 2009.
