SOCAR puts a platform at the Chilov field into operation

SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) soon plans to put into operation a new extraction platform at the Chilov field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, a company announcement reads.

Construction of a platform is already complete. It is calculated to drill 10 extraction wells, Trend reports.

SOCAR is now implementing a program for stabilizing and increasing volumes of oil production. For this purpose the the state oil company is drilling wells, both at land and maritime fields in Azerbaijan.

In January-July 2014 SOCAR extracted at offshore and onshore fields of the country 4.91 million tons of oil compared to 4.85 million tons in the same period of 2013.
