Valentina Matviyenko, the speaker of the Federation Council of Russia, said that food prices rising in some regions of Russia last month were a result of dishonest traders, not just the embargo on imports of food from Western countries, RIA Novosti reports.She noted at the council for prospects of development of the Kamchatka Region that some businessmen wanted to take advantage of the situation and started raising prices. The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service should control the situation, the senator added.
