Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev concluded the 5th Caspian Summit in Astrakhan with the signing of an inter-governmental agreement on promotion and mutual protection of investments.
The agreement initialed in Baku on September 15 was signed by Russian Minister for Economic Development Alexey Ulyukayev and Azerbaijani Minister for Economy Shakhin Mustafayev. The document needs ratification.
It has become the second document signed by the two ministries within the framework of Russian-Azerbaijani economic integration. The sides signed a memorandum of understanding in June to promote cooperation between enterprises and organizations in Russia and Azerbaijan.
