Armenian GDP rose by 3.1% in January-August, according to statistics,
compared with the same period in 2009, News Armenia reports, citing
the National Statistics Service of Armenia. The GDP level reached $5.6
billion.
The consumer price rose by 7.7% compared with 2009. The first 8 months
of 2010 showed this indicator rising by 5% compared with December
2009. The prices for industrial products rose by 27.7% compared with
the same period in 2009. This year Armenia produced industrial
products worth a total of $1385.6 million, which is by 11.5% higher
than in 2009.
External trade in January-August reached $2958.7 million, rising by
25.3% compared with the same period in 2009. The growth of Armenian
GDP this year is planned to be 1.2%.
Officially Armenia has 82,600 people registered as unemployed, which
means that the number dropped by 1.4% compared with the same period in
2009. Unemployment in August 2010 dropped by 1.7%, compared with July
2010.
