Akbar Torkan, the secretary of the Coordinating Council of Free and Special Economic Zones, said that new open platforms for investments will strengthen the economy and help Iran fight Western sanctions better. Iran plans to form new free economic zones in Bushehr and Jask, develop relations with neighbours, TASS reports.
Iran has 7 free and 16 special economic zones. The latter have restricted currency operations and tax reliefs for 15 years.
