Iran to open 8 thermal power plants by March 2015

Iran plans to launch 8 new power plants with a total output of 1020MW by the end of March 21, 2015, according to Majid Salehi, the managing director of the Energy Development Organization of Iran.


Two power plants will open in the west of Eslamabad, two in Genaveh and Chadormalu, two in the Kerman Province and two in Bandar Abbas. Their construction is part of the 5-year plan. The plan stipulates increase of power production by 5,000MW a year.
