Grain exports drop by 4.1% in Kazakhstan in 9 months

 

Grain exports of Kazakhstan in January-September 2014 dropped by 4.1% to 3.049 million tons, or to $702.5 million (-15.4%). Kazakhstan exported 1.317 tons of wheat and rye flour (-9.8%), worth $396.3 million (+3.5%), RIA Novosti reports.Kazakhstan is one of the world’s largest grain exporters. It collected 18.9 million tons of grain and legumes, 14.5 million tons of them being wheat, in 2013. The grain harvest in 2012 totaled 12.8 million tons. About 27 million tons were collected in 2011.
