Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Turkey have discussed the transit corridor which will connect the countries at a meeting in Ashkhabad. The project will give the countries new access to world markets and activate economic ties in the Eurasian space, Trend reports.
The participants in the meeting emphasized the role of the project in the socio-economic development of Afghanistan, opportunities to link it with regional and international infrastructure projects. The initiative will boost progress and prosperity via increase of trade volumes, reduction of transit expenses.
The cooperation is based on equality, mutually-beneficial partnership and respect, deepening of cooperation in the political, trade-economic and humanitarian sectors.
