Iran may use Caspian water to fill Lake Urmia

 

Mohammad Reza Rezazadeh, the managing director of the Iranian Company for Development of Water and Energy Resources, said that his company had been studying transportation of Caspian water to fill Lake Urmia for three months with Norwegian, Austrian and North American specialists, Trend reports.Urmia may become a swamp in 4 years, if the project fails. It has already lost 70% of its water reserves since 1995.
