Maksim Belyavsky, the head of the PR section of Ukrtransgaz, said that gas imports from Russia started days earlier than planned, as asked by Naftogaz. Ukraine will buy 43.5 million cubic meters of gas daily until the end of December, according to a contract signed with Gazprom.
The gas will be sent to distribution stations of Mozelskaya and Sudzha.
Naftogaz paid Gazprom $378 million for 1 billion cubic meters of gas on December 5. Russia lacked the bid on gas volumes yesterday, so information about renewal of gas supplies had been concealed until recently.
