Stroytransgaz Group will most likely quit the bridge construction project over the Kerch Strait to save its reputation, it was stated by Gennady Timchenko, the founder and the main shareholder of the Group. The official called the project very complicated and pointed out that its cost and the geology of its construction were vague, RIA Novosti reports.
Mostotrest and Stroytransgaz are the two general contractors to choose from for the bridge construction. They may eventually become a general contractor and a subcontractor.
The bridge should connect Crimea with other territories of Russia. The only ground route to the peninsula is through Ukraine. Russia plans to pick a contractor for the project before the end of the year.
