Azerbaijan buys new aircraft

The terms of delivery of the first Boeings within the framework of the
contract signed by the national Azerbaijani airline 'Azerbaijan hava
yollary' (AZAL) remain unchanged, said a source in the company. 'AZAL
will deliver a Boeing 767-300 ER in late spring or early summer this
year and another one in spring 2011. Also, according to the contract,
the company will get two more 'Boeing-737-900 ER' aircraft in 2010 and
another two will arrive in the country in 2011, reports Trend.

The company 'Boeing' is late implementing the project to create the
new Boeing-787-8 Dreamliner, which could change the terms of delivery
of these aircraft, which will arrive in Azerbaijan a year late. They
were to have been delivered by 2014. Nevertheless, Azerbaijan remains
the only country in the CIS which is going to get these planes.

The national airline of Azerbaijan had previously completely stopped
using aircraft produced in the USSR.

Acquisition of the new aircraft will allow the company AZAL to open
new routes to Europe, south-east Asia and America.
