Belarus has taken no action to stop the transit through its territory of fruits and vegetables from Europe, the import of which is officially banned in Russia from August 7, 2014. This is related by Rosselkhoznadzor.
In particular, according to data of the agency, lorries with European products that are subject to quarantine travel to Russia on the day of their arrival to Belarus from the EU, immediately after customs clearance and getting re-export phytosanitary certificates from the State Inspection for seed production and plant protection of Belarus.
"At the same time, Belarus, a country that controls the border of the Eurasian Economic Union with the EU, does not take measures to prevent the illegal importation of regulated products in Russia and violates the requirements of the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures in establishing the authenticity of the goods and phytosanitary examination of documents," Interfax cites the message of Rosselkhoznadzor.
