A new section of the Tbilisi-Telavi road opens in Georgia.
The President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has opened a
55-kilometer stretch of the Gombori road. This section will cut an
hour's journey from Tbilisi to Telavi, Georgia Online reports.
Rehabilitation of the 55-km section of road cost $33 million and was
carried out with funding from the World Bank and the state budget. A
27 kilometre-long highway connecting Gombori and Sioni will be
completed in August next year.
