Russian federal surveillance to permit imports of European pork

 

Rosselkhoznadzor (Russian Federal Veterinary and Phytosanirary Surveillance) has started work on lifting the ban on imports of EU pork in the context of the African swine flu problem, said Alexey Alexeyenko, the head of the federal surveillance, TASS reports.Russia will import pork from Italy, Germany, Denmark, France, Hungary and Netherlands, clarified Rosselkhoznadzor Spokeswoman Yulia Trofimova. The imports will need to meet the highest veterinary and epizootic standards (fourth compartment).All inspections of pork companies offering exports will take place in the first half of 2015.
