Is Georgian wine becoming expensive and rare?The volume of export of Georgian wine to the Russian market has been reduced due to the devaluation of the ruble, a representative of the National Agency of Georgian wine said today. The spokesperson of the Badagoni wine producer, Liza Bagrationi said that companies are negotiating with Russian wine importers changes in prices in connection to the falling ruble.According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia, from January-November 2014, Georgia sent to Russia about 63% of its wine export volume.A significant decline in production of alcochol was observed in November and December of the last year. In December it decreased by almost a half. Market experts believe that due to the increase in prices on alcochol, the consumption of illegal alcohol will increase.
