Russia and South Ossetia prepare agreement on customs cooperation.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has ordered the signing of
agreements on customs cooperation and mutual assistance between South
Ossetia and the Russian Federation, Res reports, citing the Kremlin's
official website.
The draft Agreement has been developed by the Federal Customs Service
of Russia as a part of the implementation of the Treaty of Friendship,
Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and
the Republic of South Ossetia, signed on September 17th 2008. The
draft Agreement is aimed at strengthening customs cooperation,
fighting customs violations, facilitating passenger and cargo traffic
between the parties, ensuring the levying of accurate customs duties
and compliance with prohibitions and restrictions in accordance with
the parties’ agreements.
