Chechnya will receive state guarantees worth 3.8 billion rubles for
loans to realize investment projects, Russian Premier Vladimir Putin
said at a meeting of the inner cabinet on Tuesday, RIA Novosti
reports.
He clarified that the projects involve the processing industry and
agriculture, as well as broadband wireless communication.
Putin said that the issue is not related to the birthday of Chechen
leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
Russian Finance Minister Alexey Kudrin said that the decision was made
due to the conclusion of investment projects they were working on two
years ago. He said that two years ago Kadyrov requested support from
budget funds for investment projects in the republic. The banks
decided to provide the sum. The main creditors are the Bank for
Development and Foreign Economic Affairs and the VTB bank.
Projects worth 15 billion rubles were selected. The first projects
worth 3.8 billion rubles are ready. It is a matter of guarantees now,
Kudrin said.
