Krasnodar Territory has finished preventive measures in the Uspenskaya
Cossack village of Beloglinskiy region, where an outbreak of anthrax
occurred on a farm, Yuga.ru reports, citing the press-service of the
regional department of Federal Consumer Rights Oversight Service.
Vestnik Kavkaza had reported earlier that the anthrax outbreak was
registered at one of the Uspenskiy Agropromsoyuz farms in Beloglinskiy
region. The first 9 cows with symptoms of anthrax were discovered on
September 19. Quarantine and an emergency situation regime was
introduced.
5 people with anthrax symptoms were hospitalized. Medics believe that
the source of infection is the soil from a former animal burial site.
