French companies operating in Turkey will be successful in Azerbaijan

France intends to attract their companies doing business in Turkey to Azerbaijan, the French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Monnier stated.

Monnier believes that companies that make substantial progress in Turkey will be able to achieve the same results in Azerbaijan.

"Turkey and Russia are the largest economic partners of Azerbaijan. At the same time, more than 700 French companies operate in Turkey. This means that they would be able to work effectively in Azerbaijan together with Turkish partners. Turkey and France often talk about cooperation in third markets, and we decided that it might be just be Azerbaijan," Trend cited the Ambassador.

According to Monier, the Department of Industrial Economics of Azerbaijan with the Chamber of Commerce of Turkey and the Franco-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce will hold a seminar in Baku in late May, during which it is proposed to raise the question about the prospects of cooperation in the Azerbaijani market.

"In addition to the large contracts that we have signed, we want to develop the small and medium-sized business segments. We need to have more medium-sized companies in Azerbaijan. I believe that French construction companies could offer a lot to Azerbaijan. There are many effective companies in architecture, design, interior design and decoration in France, one of them is Schneider Electric," the diplomat said.

According to his information, today French companies operate in Azerbaijan in the field of oil and gas (Total, GDF-Suez, Air Liquide) and production equipment (Schlumberger, Nexans).Monier also noted that French companies are carrying out design work on restoring the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
