The third energy block of the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant has been put into commission and increased the total output to 50% of capacity. The block produced the first portion of electricity in December 2014, increasing output to 35% on January 11, RIA Novosti reports.
The exploitation program of the power plant stipulates a gradual rise of output to 100% alongside test-conducting. The block is expected to be launched at full capacity in the third quarter of 2015. The nuclear power plant supplies electricity to the Volgograd Oblast, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories.
