SOCAR lowers its gas and oil extraction

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) announced that in January its oil production decreased by 0.4% and gas extraction fell by 17.5%.

 

According to the company, by 1 February 2015 it had produced 712,300 tons, compared to 715,400 tons of oil a year earlier. In general, oil production in the country amounted to 3.667 million tons against 3.639 million tons a year earlier, abc.az reports.

 

The company informs that it has decreased gas production in January against the background of its fall throughout the country. As of 1 February 2015 it produced 570.2 million cu m, which is 17.5% less than the amount in the same period in 2014 (691.5 million cu m). 

 

This January gas extraction in Azerbaijan, according to SOCAR, totaled 2.496 billion cu m, which was 7.2% less than a year earlier (2.69 billion cu m). In 2014 SOCAR produced 7.245 billion cu m gas in total, which is 0.5% more compared to the 2013 index (7.209 billion cu m).
