Rosatom Deputy Director General Nikolai Spassky and Egyptian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Russia Mohammed Elbadri have discussed prospects of cooperation in nuclear energy today, RIA Novosti reports.
Russia and Egypt signed a deal on development of a project for construction of the first nuclear power plant in Egypt in February. Two blocks with an output of 1200MW each will be built at first. The first power plant of Egypt will have four such blocks. The nuclear power plant will have the first system in the world merging the blocks with water-purifiers. Russia may grant a loan for the project.
The sides plan to sign an intergovernmental agreement on the construction of the power plant and another one on granting a loan.
