The Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AzTa) has proposed that travel companies take advantage of the situation with ths devaluation of the national currency.
AzTa head, Nahid Bagirov, said that the decrease in the exchange rate of the manat is an advantage for companies engaged in organization of incoming tourism. “In such a situation, tours to Azerbaijan for foreign tourists will be cheaper and the companies engaged in organizing incoming tourism should intensify their activity on promotion of the country’s tourism potential, which will have a positive effect on the tourism sector in general,” Bagirov said.
In his words, the devaluation of the manat could affect outgoing tourism. “An insignificant decline is observed today, but it’s still too early to draw any serious conclusions,” Bagirov said.
