Lukoil to start oil production at new Caspian Sea oil field in 2015.
The biggest private Russian oil company, Lukoil, plans to launch oil
extraction at the Filanovskiy oil field, in the Russian part
of the Caspian Sea in 2015, the press service of the company reports.
This oil field was discovered in 2005 and is one of the biggest
oil-fields in Russia discovered in the past 25 years. In 2008, amidst
the financial crisis, Lukoil took a decision to postpone exploitation
of this oil field for a year .
Several fields have already been discovered before in the Russian part
of the Caspian Sea . At the moment oil is being extracted only from
the Korchagin field.
