The Lengidroproyekt Institute and RusHydro have prepared projects for construction of three hydro-electric power plants on the rivers Andiyskoye Koysu, Avarskoye Koysu and Samur in Dagestan. The republic uses about 10% of the potential of the hydro resources of the rivers of the Sulak and the Samur basins, RIA Dagestan reports.
The Institute is working on the installation of hydro machines 3 and 4 with an output of 200MW each on the Irganayskaya Dam to bring the total capacity of the plant to 800MW. Dagestan may increase production of hydro power to 920MW by 2020. About 2,621 million KW/h a year will be produced.
