Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia plans to invest 15 trillion rubles in the oil and gas industry until 2020.
"Last year, total investment in the sector amounted to 2.5 trillion rubles. If we take the general amount of investment for the period until 2020, the orders of the oil and gas sector amount to nearly 15 trillion rubles," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
The Minister said that's only for the amount of investments. "As for purchases, they can amount to 5 trillion rubles per year, which means 30 trillion rubles," Novak said.
The Energy Minister said the oil and gas sector holds great potential for Russia's domestic industry.
