Turkmenneft is carrying out exploration drilling in shoal waters of the Caspian Sea and North Goturdep, Trend reports, citing the company’s press-release.
Borehole N29 showed the presence of oil. Specialists are also drilling two new boreholes. One of them, N147, will be exploited, N37 will be used for exploration.
There is also active drilling at the Altyguyty field in west Turkmenistan, near Korpedzh, where the gas is extracted and transported to Iran. Specialists will drill a 3,900 m deep borehole - N51- in the area.
This year they advanced geological and geophysical research in 3D was used at Akeser, Kemer, Miyesser. Borehole N1 near Akpatlavuk and Keymir is expected to show positive results. 2000 m have already been drilled. The borehole will be 4300 m deep.
By the end of this year Turkmenneft plans to start exploration in Shayirdy, Garadashly and Simler.
