The Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes together with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan is taking active measures to promote non-cash payments and limit cash turnover.

Currently a list is being prepared of organizations where POS terminals will be installed and a map is being developed of implemented measures agreed with the Central Bank, the Ministry said.

“51,000 POS terminals were installed in the country in 2014 and the total number of terminals reached 82,000. 64.1% of them operate in Baku, and 35.9% operate in the regions of the country," abc.az cited the Ministry.
