IMF to make life easier in Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier hailed the IMF’s decision to grant Ukraine financial assistance. Steinmeier said at the Washington Center for Strategic and International Studies that only a strong and stable Ukraine would overcome the conflict, RIA Novosti reports.

Yesterday, the IMF passed a four-year program of financial assistance to Ukraine worth $17.5 billion. Ukrainian Minister of Finances Natalia Yaresko said that Kiev was expecting the first tranche worth about $5 billion in the next few days.
