Krasnodar governor wants local farmers to become self-sufficient

 

Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Tkachev said at an expanded council on spring fieldwork in 2015 in the Kurganinsky District that devaluation of the ruble was a good opportunity for local farmers to compete on foreign markets. He noted that a ton of third-class wheat was worth 8,000 rubles in September 2014 and reached a price of about 11,000 rubles in 2015, Yuga.ru reports.The governor reminded that experts were predicting stable prices. In this light, Tkachev believes that farmers should become self-sufficient. He added that there were successful agricultural projects in the Kalininsky, Dinsky and Vyselkovsky Districts.
