TANAP groundbreaking ceremony to be held in Turkey

The construction of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) will start in Turkey today. The groundbreaking ceremony will be attended by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. 


Gas transportation within the TANAP is expected to be started in 2018. The planned capacity of the pipeline would be 16 billion cubic metres of natural gas per year at the initial stage and would be increased later to 23 billion cubic metres and 31 billion cubic metres, APA reports.
