Gazprom is confident that the prospect of increasing annual gas production up to 1 trillion cubic meters by 2030 is realistic, the Chief Executive Officer of Gazprom Alexei Miller announced on Monday, RIA Novosti reports.
"The market potential is huge, we are confident about gas prospects. This is an absolutely realistic figure," Miller said. He stressed that production growth will be determined by the potential growth of gas consumption in Russia. "We are optimists by nature," concluded the head of Gazprom.
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said that Russia has every opportunity to increase annual gas production up to 1 trillion 650 billion cubic meters by 2030 at a meeting on the gas industry development on Monday. He added that by 2030 the share of independent gas producers in general production is expected to be 30%.
