Ankara is seeking to create new partnerships for defense and aviation projects with other countries rather than just being a market for defense manufacturers, the Deputy Defense Minister of Turkey, Ismail Demir, said at a meeting with his Italian counterpart Gioacchino Alfano.
"Please don't come to us in the hope of selling a product but, if you offer cooperation on something, we can talk over it," Anadolu agency cited him as saying.
Demir mentioned the cooperation between the two countries on the development of the T129 attack helicopter version and about promising Turkish-Italian projects for military aircraft and ship production."We would like to bring our technology, create a partnership and invest here rather than just selling some products," RIA Novosti cited Alfano. According to him, Italy differs from other countries trying to establish partnerships with Turkey.
