The Azerbaijani state customs committee and Azerbaijani Railroads company are working on information exchange for cargo transported via rail, Trend reports, citing the head of the main department of Azerbaijani customs control organization Shakhin Bagirov.
They are also working on reducing the management risks to improve dangerous cargo detection and reduce the time needed for inspections.
He noted that they plan to implement a "single-window“ system for cargo transport on railways. The cargo registration process will take only 20-30 minutes instead of 2-3 hours. The system mainly operates on the Russian-Azerbaijani border.
