Rosturizm evaluates Crimea's readiness for the summer at 90%

Crimea's infrastructure for mass reception of tourists is 90% ready, the head of the Federal Agency for Tourism, Oleg Safonov, stated during an inspection tour of the peninsula.

"In terms of infrastructure for the high season, I think that in principle Crimea is ready to receive guests. Moreover, we see a great willingness of the Republic's leadership and the management of the tourism industry to receive guests. I think that Crimea is 90% ready for mass reception of tourists in the high season, despite some deficiencies, including ferry services," RIA Novosti quotes Safonov.

He expects that by the beginning of the high season, that is, by May 1, an expanded ferry service will be in operation. The head of the Federal Tourism Agency also points out the shortcomings of the resorts of Crimea, including poor roads and problems with information materials.

"Among the positive changes, it can be noted that Crimea finally has tourist navigation. Over the past year, 7 thousand information signs have been installed on the peninsula. Maybe it is not enough, but the work is going on," Safonov said.
