Turkish Stream is not competing with the Southern Gas Corridor project on supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Europe, the chief of the investments department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Vagif Aliyev, said.
"The Southern Gas Corridor and the South Stream pipeline were developed and discussed on par. These projects are not rivals. Russian gas supplies to Europe via the Turkish Stream are not rivaling our volumes. The volumes we propose to be supplied at the end of 2019-early 2020 are out of the competition,” RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
