The two-day visit by a delegation of the Ministry of Energy of Iran to Armenia has concluded with the signing of three memorandums. They were laid today by the energy ministers of the two countries Armen Movsisyan and Majid Manju, News.am reports.
The first two memorandums concern the two countries' cooperation in energy, environmental protection in border areas, as well as clearing the water border river Arax. The third memorandum deals with the construction of the Megriyskaya hydroelectric station.
Iranian Energy Minister Majid Manju has noted at a press-conference that the construction of the Megriyskaya hydroelectric station is nor the first, neither the last Armenian-Iranian joint energy project.
Prior to the first day of the visit of the Iranian delegation to Armenia the construction of the third electro power line Iran-Armenia was started in the Gegarkuniskaya area. A Noravan substation with a capacity of 400,220 kW will be constructed as a part of the project.
