Azercosmos has proposed using the low-orbit Azersky satellite in agriculture and the formation of a land registry at a seminar on satellite images. The talks were attended by members of the Ministry for Agriculture and the State Committee for Property of Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
By the end of the year, Azercosmos plans to offer Azersky to defense, security and oil institutions. The satellite may also be used for searches for natural resources, in maritime studies, environmental protection, urban planning, tourism and other sectors.
Azersky resources will be used to monitor, delimit and demarcate the state border of Azerbaijan, which is stipulated in a memorandum of understanding signed by the Ministry for Communication and High Technologies and the State Border Service.
