Crimea starts mass road reconstruction

Roman Starovoyt, the head of the Russian Federal Road Agency, has said at a meeting today with Sergey Aksenov, the head of Crimea, that he will help the republic recoup the unspent 1.8 billion rubles out of the 3.8 billion rubles granted for road reconstruction in 2014, TASS reports.

Aksenov explained that the funds had not been spent due to problems with documents.

Mass road reconstruction in Crimea will start on the night of April 24. Aksenov promised to check the quality of the roads personally. Contractors misusing technologies may be banned from further tenders.
